Electronic Resources we want to make sure you know about:

SPIE Digital Library

The SPIE Digital Library is the most extensive resource available on optics and photonics, providing access to more than 230,000 technical papers from SPIE Journals and Conference Proceedings from 1990 to the present. More than 17,000 new research papers are added annually.

Includes journal titles: Optical Engineering, Journal of Electronic Imaging, Journal of Biomedical Optics, Journal of Micro/Nanolithography, MEMS, and MOEMS, Journal of Applied Remote Sensing, and Journal of Nanophotonics.

RSS feeds are available to alert you when new content is added to the SPIE Digital Library based on search criteria you specify.

Synthesis Digital Library of Engineering and Computer Science including Lectures on Biomedical Engineering

Comprised of 50- to 100-page publications on advanced and state-of-the-art topics that span the field of biomedical engineering, from the atom and molecule to large diagnostic equipment. Each lecture covers, for that topic, the fundamental principles in a unified manner, develops underlying concepts needed for sequential material, and progresses to more advanced topics. Computer software and multimedia, when available, is included for simulation, computation and design.

Includes biochemical, biomaterials, biomechanics, bioinstrumentation, physiological modeling, biosignal processing, bioinformatics, biocomplexity, medical and molecular imaging, rehabilitation engineering, biomimetic nano-electrokinetics, biosensors, biotechnology, clinical engineering, biomedical devices, drug discovery and delivery systems, tissue engineering, proteomics, functional genomics, molecular and cellular engineering.  See at listing of the BME lectures at:  http://www.morganclaypool.com/toc/bme/1/1

Knovel including the Biochemistry, Biology & Biotechnology collection

Knovel's collection includes close to 2,000 leading reference works and databases from over 40 international publishers and professional societies.  Knovel indexes all content - including tables, graphs and equations and handles units so searchers can specify ranges of values and find valid responses published in other units of measurements.  Knovel’s Units  Converter enables you to convert 864 scientific and engineering units for 82 properties - from Acceleration to Volume - to other units as appropriate. It rounds results to the desired number of significant digits selected by you.
