FINES OF $.25/HOUR/ITEM ARE CHARGED FOR OVERDUE RESERVE MATERIALS FOR THE FIRST TWO HOURS AND THEN FINES INCREASE TO $.50/ HOUR/ITEM. Fines are charged for the hours that the library is closed. If other patrons ask for an overdue reserve item, an additional fine of $5/request is assessed for overdue reserve materials.

RENEWALS

Faculty and full-time students have up to 6 renewals; alumni, cardholders, OHSU, and ORBIS borrowers have one renewal.

MAXIMUM ITEMS

Faculty and full-time students may have up to 100 items checked out at any one time; adjunct faculty and part-time matriculated students may have up to 25 items; other part-time students have up to 10 items; cardholders have a maximum of 6 items and alumni have a maximum of 5 items.

RECALL POLICIES

  • Any item can be recalled after a two weeks use if requested by another OGI patron. IT IS EXPECTED THAT ITEMS WILL BE RETURNED PROMPTLY.

  • A fine of $1/day/item will be charged for items not returned when recalled.

  • If a book is needed for class reserve, it must be returned immediately regardless of the length of time that the item has been checked out.

FINES

  • Fines are charged to all categories of borrowers for overdue reserve or recalled materials. Reserve overdue fines are $.25/hour/item and increase to $.50/ hour after two hours. Fines are $1/day for recalled materials.

  • Materials borrowed from Orbis libraries have overdue fines of $.50/day for the first 10 days and then $1/day thereafter.

  • Except for the above instances, fines are not charged to OGI faculty, staff, or students.

  • In addition to the fines mentioned above, cardholders, and Orbis Cascade borrowers pay fines of $.25/day/item on other overdue materials.
