Financial Aid
Entering full-time Ph.D. students may be eligible to obtain financial support
through a combination of tuition scholarships, OGI fellowships, named fellowships
and graduate research assistantships. Part-time Ph.D. students may be eligible
for some of the above. Partial-tuition scholarships may be awarded to entering
full-time MS students.
Subsidized and Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loans are available to students
who have been formally admitted to a MS or Ph.D. program at OGI. To be eligible
for a loan, students must take at least 5 credits each quarter, and must
be U.S citizens or eligible non-citizens (e.g. permanent residents). For
application
materials and addition information, contact the Financial Aid Office at OHSU
at (503) 494-7800 or 1-800-775-5460 or finaid@ohsu.edu. Information about
financial aid may also be found on OHSU's website www.ohsu.edu/finaid/.
The 'Free
Application for Student Aid' (FAFSA) forms may be found at www.fafsa.ed.gov/.
Hard copy forms are available from the OGI Department of Graduate Education
Office. Use Federal School Code 004883 when completing the FAFSA form.

Alternatively, you may pick up a printed FAFSA application
form from the Department of Graduate Education Office (Admissions/Library Building).
2. You will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) approximately
4-6 weeks after filing the FAFSA – this is confirmation
that the federal Department of Education processed your application.

(Cherie Honnell at 503–4945117 or honnellc@ohsu.edu)
that your FAFSA has been processed and that you would like
to officially apply for financial aid through OHSU. You will then be mailed additional information
detailing eligibility criteria and instructions for completing
the financial aid process.
4. As soon as your financial aid check arrives, it will be deposited into your student account.
In School Deferments (From Previous Outstanding Loans)
If you currently have loans from your undergraduate or
other college career, you may be eligible to defer repayment
of these loans while you are in attendance at OGI. To qualify for an In School Deferment,
you must be enrolled at least half time. Contact your lender for the appropriate form.
The form will need to be completed by a staff member
in the Department of Graduate Education and mailed directly to your lender.

Exit Interview. Contact Cherie Honnell at honnellc@ohsu.edu
